Latinoamérica. Revista de Estudios Latinoamericanos is a biannual academic publication edited by the Center for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), which publishes original research papers about Latin America and the Caribbean in the fields of history, philosophy, history of ideas, literature and essay, social science, and cultural studies of the region. It gathers thematic, theoretical, and methodological diversity, which means the production of humanistic and social knowledge about Latin America and the Caribbean. Submissions are welcomed when they have the purpose of studying the region or cases located in the area, interdisciplinary studies, comparative perspectives, and historical approaches on the region’s problems.

            Latinoamérica is an academic and scientific journal; therefore, all the manuscripts are subjected to a system of peer review, done by expert peers (national and international) from the different thematic lines. From May 2011, it has been part of the Index of Mexican Journals of Scientific and Technological Research of Conacyt, and it provides open access.
