Abstract
El artículo analiza las interrelaciones entre la política instituida (gobiernos) y lo social instituyente (movimientos sociales) en el contexto actual latinoamericano. El análisis se realiza en dos niveles —el nacional y el regional—, para lo cual se toman como referencia, por una parte, los movimientos sociales de dos países (Brasil y Argentina) y, por otra, los espacios regionales vinculados tanto a movimientos sociales como a gobiernos.
