Abstract
Parte dos hospitais em São Paulo é administrada por entidades qualificadas: “Organizações Sociais de Saúde”. O objetivo deste artigo é compreender as mudanças ocorridas no espaço, configurações e oposição. Com abordagem qualitativa, a metodologia envolveu pesquisa de campo e bibliográfica sobre as organizações, origem, divergências e especificidades. Como resultado evidenciou-se quais são as organizações atuando na saúde e que sua escolha é individual do secretário de saúde. A oposição a tal arranjo é composta por sanitaristas, conselhos e sindicatos, a busca por legitimação advém de eventos com autopromoção, discursos unívocos e publicações.
