La imagen de la mujer en el discurso nacionalista paraguayo

Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el discurso nacionalista paraguayo, conformado a lo largo de la vida republicana del país, para ver cómo representa y aprovecha la figura de la mujer: desde la guaraní conquistada hasta la actual paraguaya. Se presenta un corto esbozo del debate intelectual acerca del concepto de nación, destacando su relación con lo femenino, dicho análisis descubre las similitudes con otros discursos nacionalistas, pero sobre todo muestra los rasgos originales del discurso paraguayo. Es nuestro propósito interrogar acerca de las verdades y mitos que esconde la imagen de la mujer paraguaya difundida por el nacionalismo, así como de las paradojas que refleja y las metas a las que sirve.
