Abstract

The novels The lady of the assassins (La virgen de los sicarios (1994) by Fernando Vallejo and The corner of the red eyes (La esquina de los ojos rojos (2006) by Rafael Ramirez Heredia, are two representative works of today’s latin american literature. The first one focuses on the colombian territory. The second focuses on mexican people and mexican reality. These narrative works describe regions of dramatic contrasts and social tensions. This pretends to be also an open dialogue with other critical views of social and literary researches. In this study about Vallejo’s novel, it is showed the relationship between the young assassins in Medellin. in the case of Mexico, the study around Rafael Ramirez Heredia narrative, focuses on the story located in Tepito.
