Abstract

The following essay takes a close look at the new latin american literary order within the context of neoliberalism and the now permanent “humanities crisis”. It engages some its outcomes: independent publishing networks, transatlantic editorial frameworks, and the broadening scope of cultural studies. More specifically, it analyses two influential and ambitious paradigms in dialogue in search for new horizons: the coloniality of power and deconstruction. Lastly it attempts to show how this new turn within “latin americanism” responds to the growing relationship between markets and the production of critical discourses in the latin american field.
