Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal revisar aquellas aproximaciones críticas que desde los ochenta se han realizado en torno al testimonio. La crítica literaria latinoamericana y latinoamericanista la consideró un nuevo género literario. Se analiza el modo en que se busca, a veces infructuosamente, una definición para la modalidad testimonial, una genealogía que lo inscriba en la tradición cultural del continente y una taxonomía que pueda clasificar la gran variedad que presenta este tipo de discurso. Las propuestas son tan dispares como los tipos de producción testimonial.
Abstract: This article reviews the critical approaches that from the eighties have been carried out around “testimonio” Latin American and Latin American literary criticism considered it a new literary genre. This article focuses on definitions literary criticism has proposed for it, the genealogy that inscribes it in the cultural tradition of the continent and a taxonomy that can classify the great variety of this type of discourse. The critical approaches are so different as the types of testimonial writing.
