De hermanos y utopías, diálogo entre Ecuador y México (1928-1938)

Abstract
Este artículo muestra los vínculos entre la literatura y la historia
de la cultura de Ecuador y México, entre los años veinte y treinta del siglo
XX, a partir del rastreo de fuentes poco conocidas. En este ensayo, dividido
entre “documentos históricos” y “textos literarios”, la autora elabora algunas
de las relaciones político-ideológicas de los escritores, que desempeñan un
papel tanto en la literatura como en la política. En el ámbito político, la relación
se instaura a partir de la imagen que los escritores ecuatorianos tienen
en estos años sobre la Revolución mexicana. Se entrevé México como utopía
fundamental en la relación con Latinoamérica. Como se trata de autores
de la denominada vanguardia histórica, el ideal estético y el ideal político
se superponen y confunden, en la misma noción de vanguardia.
