México y Cuba: los inicios de una relación

Abstract
En el presente trabajo se aborda de forma sintética la presencia
del general cubano Carlos García Vélez como representante diplomático en
México. El trabajo se divide en dos apartados, el primero de ellos expone
datos significativos y una interpretación sobre el personaje en cuestión, resaltando sus vínculos familiares, su trayectoria política pero también intelectual; y una segunda donde se observa el periodo que fungió como
representante diplomático, al destacar su mirada crítica de la realidad mexicana. El personaje se torna relevante, además de su biografía política, al
ser el primer representante diplomático de la recién inaugurada República
cubana, en el periodo que abarca de 1902 a 1906.
