Un archivo “por entregas”: la Revista del Río de la Plata y la conservación de la memoria americana (1871-1877)

Abstract
Este artículo examina las características del proceso de elaboración y circulación de la Revista del Río de la Plata, periódico publicado en Buenos Aires por los intelectuales Juan María Gutiérrez, Vicente Fidel López y Andrés Lamas. Mediante el análisis del soporte y de la correspondencia intercambiada entre sus responsables, se busca determinar su lugar particular dentro del espacio publicitario argentino durante la década de 1870 y demostrar la forma en que accionó en el campo editorial como plataforma eficaz para salvaguardar (reunir y visibilizar) el acervo documental del continente —en tensión y diálogo con otros proyectos privados y estatales— y como espacio coleccionista y bibliófilo alrededor del cual se conformó un extenso entramado colaborativo transnacional que facilitó la creación y reescritura de distintos relatos histórico-literarios sobre el pasado argentino y americano por parte de las élites letradas.
