Pleitos y negociaciones por el territorio: aymaras y Estado en el espacio surperuano 1820-1870

Abstract
el artículo analiza cómo en un espacio inhóspito para el Estado peruano, el uso de la retórica republicana, la instrumentalización de la condición de contribuyentes y la apelación a las costumbres ancestrales, constituyeron los medios para que los aymaras de las comunidades altoandinas se hicieran escuchar. Esta capacidad negociadora y adaptativa les permitió pleitear por la defensa de sus tierras, bienes y especificidad cultural, insertándose en el largo proceso de construcción nacional peruano como sujetos activos en lo político y socioterritorial. A partir del análisis de fuentes documentales judiciales y notariales, visualizaremos la diversidad de medios usados por éstos para la defensa de sus derechos comunales y cómo a partir de ellos desplegaron y desarrollaron una praxis política alternativa, que les permitió reconocer y fortalecer la institucionalidad liberal del Estado-nación y adaptarse a un contexto que no era de Antiguo Régimen.
